I would say not for some time if at all. it would take a complete redesign of HL for it to run on the iPad. And doing so would make it difficult to support as the time for the LW folks are limited.

Actually, our Mac development plan includes an iPad version. We're doing the Mac port in a way that will allow us to re-use everything for the iPad. Granted, the iPad port will *follow* the Mac port due to the need to also rework the interface, but iPad support is definitely part of the overall plan.

Edited by Colen - please see our "State of the Wolf 2011" post for an updated plan for tablet support:

Nice. Thanks for the update Rob. That could push me into getting an iPad if I could use it for both work and play then.

For you ipad owners with a PC, I use a remote access program (Splashtop for example), to control my pc through my ipad2 and Hero Lab runs fine through that. Handy at game time when GM allows character modification.

I eagerly await a native ipad version though for the locations I game with no internet access.

Can't wait for the iPad version. One feature I would ask though to consider is to be able to communicate with the desktop version by transferring the .POR files without having to use iTunes.

Perhaps as an email attachment?

Being able to send your character to your GM without having to USB stick to a computer with iTunes would be very useful.

The best guess on timing at this point is 2Q2011, based on where we're at with the Mac port.

Ah brilliant news! Just became a licence holder for mnm3e hero lab for my birthday, and run my games off of the iPad currently. Having a version of the amazing Hero Lab on the iPad will be greatly helpful.

Best plan considering it's basically a free build as you're doing the Mac version, plus iPad is so far ahead in Marketshare financially it's your best bet, even considering Apple's 70/30 split. I'll be tweeting the heck out of it and spreading the word on my various ga,ing forums when it's in the works and again when it's due out! Love to support apps that I love.

Take my money! I'm ready to buy it!
