I regularly update my realms from two different computers, so syncing at the end of an update process is always a must.
At some point, when closing Realm Works on my desktop, I accidentally clicked the option to exit without opening the Realm Launcher. And this seems to stay in effect for all time. So now my closing process involves four steps:
Whereas, before I clicked that checkbox, it only involved the outside two steps. I'm not seeing either
I recognize that one or both of these must exist, and I'm feeling foolish for not being able to find them, but it's been over a week of poking around. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks! |

I think what you are describing in the first case is what I have to do all the time. If there is a way to sync without closing the realm, I'd love to know it.

I don't think there is an option available to re-enable the "close to launcher" option.
Your option would be to delete the Realm Works preferences file (or try editing the file to remove the entry which you think might be causing the problem.) The preference file can be found in the folder "%AppData%\LWD Technology, Inc\Realm Works" and the file is called preferences.xml (You can copy that entire string, without quotes but including the percent signs, into the windows browser bar.) The easiest way to get those back is to wipe local prefs. Farling showed how to do it manually, but since you can get to the Launcher you can do it from the Tools page.
If you want to edit preferences.xml, this is the right entry to delete: Code:
<pref name="skip_prompt_exit_need_sync_single"><value>(whatever)</value></pref> For future reference, when you click on the Realm Works icon in the upper left of a Realm window, there should be an option to Switch Realms as well as exiting the application.
