Hi,

The wolf guard new options "All model weapons" and "Each model weapons"
dont match the correct weapons (id, add all model an assault canon
instead of just one)

If you select "all model weapons" and select an assault cannon, then all
models in the unit get an assault cannon.

If you select "each model weapons" then you need to select a weapon for each
model in the unit.

If you want a single assault cannon, click on "add bodyguard" make the unit
size 1 and click on assault cannon. Increase size if you want more assault
cannons.

OK, I find the way.

I translate yours files into French, so I look carefully to the changes
you made on it. That's why I ask some silly questions about it and I
still have two things to ask you :
- Could you be carefull and regroup the changes you made on the right
file (I search some sw...... options on the Space wolf file, but they
were on the marine file)
- Please don't supress or rename Id : I augment the records and if AB
don't find it, it wont launch.

As I said quite silly requests, no ?

Thanks,

Garfunkel

Subject: opening 40k data files

Hi all,

I'm a newbie when it comes to the ABCreator and am having trouble opening
the 40k space marines and eldar data files.. i have my own chapter based on
a twisted combo of both races and wanted to make a custom ab file for it. I
have the most current registered versions of AB and ABCreator and it tells
me "Failed to load specified data file or it's corresponding definition file"

I can open 40k second edition files but not third.

On a side note i cannot for the life of me install army builder on my home
gamer machine. It locks up when switching from ab installer to abcreator
installer.
my gamer pc has the following:

Athlon TBird 1.2ghz
Asus A7A266 motherboard
256mb PC2100 DDR Ram
Windows ME
AHA2940UW Scsi Controller
lots of drives (5 hdd, CDrom, Burner, DVD, Zip)
3com Nic

Any Thoughts?

Jeff Passarella

The definition file tells ABCreator what makes up the files. In the case of
40k, the file is 'datadef.40k'. Look in the data sub-directory where Army
Builder is installed to make sure it is there.

You'll have to be more specific. Are you trying to open them in ABCreate or
in Army Builder. What EXACTLY was the error message?

It is best to create a "new" .40k file that references the others, this way,
If I change the Space Marine or Eldar files, you don't have to redo all of
your changes. (hopefully).

No.

Space Wolves reference the marines.40k file because their are things in the
marines.40k file useable to Space Wolves.

I am sorry it makes translating to French more difficult, but I can't limit
myself based on what others might do to change my work. I feel pretty good
if it is atleast bug free! I'll worry about "cleaning" it when their are no
bugs.

Subject: Question about Def file

I am working on a Definition file for Supersystems. There are 2 types of
units, Characters and Henchmen. They both have one stat, Vitaility,
Characters Vitl is = to the sum of Strg + Rslv. Henchmen, however, have a
Vitl = to the number of henchmen on the group. How do I set this up in
the Def File?

I wouldn't. I'd use an option in the datafile attached to the
Character to set the Vitl using base:Vitl=(Strg+Rslv) and then
another option attached to the Henchmen to set the Vitl using
base:Vitl=(#) - assuming the number of Hencmen in the group are all
part of a single Army Builder "unit".

Cheers,
Russell.
