A new release for Realm Works is now available. This release has a number of enhancements, including performance improvements and the other items listed below. This new version should also fix a number of issues that some of you were encountering. If you still have issues following this new update, please update your support ticket by sending a follow-up email or send us a new bug report. To see the full list of changes and enhancements, please take a look at the Release Notes available within the product.

Small Enhancements
  • The initial display and interactions with topics should now be roughly 25-30% faster than before.
  • Added keyboard shortcuts for removing empty snippets from a topic. Using <ctrl+`> deletes all empty snippets, while <ctrl+shift+`> deletes both empty snippets and empty sections.
  • Help dialogs throughout the product are now non-modal and movable by the user. This makes it possible to keep the dialog up and in view while operating within the product.

I see that there are performance improvements to viewing topics.

However, I still hear disk activity on selecting every single topic (Including topics I've previously opened). Wouldn't performance be further improved by caching the database in memory? (I have 12GB RAM that would help caching.)

It has to store every open tab's navigation history somewhere.

I just installed this update, and I can see a drastic improvement in load times. The program is a great deal more snappy. Good job devs!

Downloaded, installed and ran a short test.

The speed when loading a new topic into a tab has really improved!

That is really appreciated - can't wait to get home and test it on my desktop machine.

Haven't tested anything else, but so far, thumbs up for the speed increase.

Legend has it, that the Tarrasque is a huge fighting beast, perpetually hungry.
Sleet entered History when he managed to get on the back of a Tarrasque only to be ridden out of History shortly after.

Using Realm Works, Worldographer (Hexographer 2), LibreOffice, Daz3D Studio, pen & paper for the realm World of Temeon and the system LEFD - both homebrewed.

Getting a few crashes when closing smart images in player view while still shared with players, bug report submitted when asked by realm works, happened three times during my last game session thankfully my players were understanding and we wrapped the session up a little early after the third crash.
