Is this when loading a character that would have used the FR sources, or have had the FR sources selected in the "Configure Hero" window?

Now he will get the above errors when opening a character that was created while he had FR loaded. Based on the fact that I see archetypes as failing to load I would say the character will not function until the FR files are fixed. Sorry! @Kaleb you really should post to Toby's thread and NOT create a new thread for FR problems. I am 99% sure Toby will NOT see this new thread.
If you post in the FR thread Toby will get notified about it by email. I know you love the make new threads but its not going to help you in this case. I get the errors when I load herolab It does not even get to the point where you select the character. it kicks the everything into safe mode before character selection. I emailed toby about the problem I thought it might be a Heolab related problem as I had issues like this after the last update this is just worse. The Error are even there when Toby's files are not loaded. I removed them via the third party manager. It seems that all the files were not removed...Perhaps herolab could make a more robust 3rd party file manage that removes all traces of 3rd party content from both Herolab and all .por files.

I am confused why not just fix the FR files by changing the Thing Names? It will take about 5 minutes of work????? So you would like LW to strip data out of your own user files? No this is a bad plan. Yeah, having LW modify por files is a BAD idea™. Throwing errors may make things difficult, but at least allows users to fix stuff instead of things just going missing.
Ideally LW would have a few installs with the community package and the major community packages and do a little testing before releasing. If they found issues notify the devs and give them a change to fix it before they have to play cleanup like this. However that is in an ideal world and not everyone has the resources for a setup like that. |

The Thing ID is the "Unique ID" inside of editor when you open the .user file.
The error message you got when you loaded FR was: Code:
3.5 - PF Convert - Frostburn.user (line 903) - Thing - Duplicate record encountered ('fMountaine') - found in '3.5 - PF Convert - Frostburn.user', 'built-in packages' Find a the feat Mountain with the unique id of "fMountaine". Change the Unique ID to be "fFRMoutain". Save it and the file. Repeat the above steps for each error listed. The only issue that could come up is if the feats are Bootstrapped to something else. But 99% of the times Feats are not.
