Is it possible to set the system to ignore the weight of items so that you can not take penalties for carrying too much? My group has decided to not factor that in, and then I found this great program and would like to use it to track my character but I would need to find a way to do this. Thanks!

I believe there is an option in the Configure Hero window to ignore encumbrance.

It appears in the configure Dialog box right after opening the D20 ruleset. Allowing the end user to adjust for varied things including encumbrance as Aaron suggests.
