My player is going into the final battle of her campaign, and has informed me that she plans to cast the spell Ascension in order give a mythic tier to her animal companion.
This appears to be legit rules-wise -- he's technically not a mythic creature himself, even though his mistress is. But I don't see any way to add a mythic tier to him in Hero Lab. His configuration screen lacks the "Mythic character" checkbox because he's an animal companion. Is there any way to give him the Mythic tab, or am I stuck doing a bunch of adjustments and tracking his mythic power/etc manually? |

The Guardian mythic path has some powers which give mythic abilities to the companion. Perhaps look at that and create a spell adjustment for the Ascension spell? That would be my first instinct.

On second thought, it occurred to me that the animal companion in question is basically just a boar with some extra hit dice and a couple of bonuses (ability scores, natural armor). So I took a crack at just taking a standard boar and advancing it to match the animal companion version. Everything worked fine, and now I have a mythic boar whose numbers match the original.
With one exception, which is that the second gore attack I gave him with an adjustment is at full BAB, when per animal companion rules it's supposed to be at -5 like an iterative attack. I couldn't find an adjustment that would give a second attack at -5 -- the closest was one of Shadow Chemosh's, Extra Weapon Attack, but it apparently doesn't work on natural weapons. But no biggie. This stat block is destined for conversion into a MapTool token, and I can tweak the code in the macros on that end to take 5 off that second attack. |
