When I try to compile after changing an option child type from link to anything else, I get a compile error:

"Non-linked child conflicts with other aspects of link to option X on unit Y".

Uh....what? What should I be looking for to try and fix that?

An option that attaches a non-linked child entity cannot utilize the following mechanisms:

-Cannot be used with a range-based link
-Cannot be used with mirroring (there's nothing to mirror since it's not a true child)
-Cannot be used with synchronization (same reason as above)
-Cannot be designated as "auto-select"

I think it's safe to assume you are trying to do one or more of the above, which AB is refusing to allow.

Yup; that was it; it had a range on it.

Thanks Rob!

For others having the same problem: I changed from trying to use a range based link, to adding an exclusion group to the option; that did the same thing I was after.
