Can someone walk me through the process of adding Focused Specialist from Complete Mage (p. 146) to hero lab?

Well, one option would be to download the community set. It was added a few releases ago. If you don't want the whole thing, you could at least see how it was done.

It's not in the community set. Focused Specialist isn't a class it's a alternative class feature.
