Unfortunately not all the abilities apply to all the races. If the character was primarily human and they choose the Silth racial ability of tough hide, I want it to show that the character has a genetic trait from another race.
Some players may choose (accidentally or purposely) human and then tough skin.

OK, I think I've finally got your point. So I guess Parody's idea of multiple single-tag snippets is probably the best option, in order to avoid abbreviations.
