Only if you have display of signatures switched on. I switched mine off a while ago when someone's signature was about 20 lines long.

How about we take a leaf out of your book! Sig's that go across rather then down...

Sleet was enjoying a tasty beverage at his local tavern, when a Tarrasque showed up in the local area. He managed to valiantly get on it's back and ride it. How he did it is a mystery to this day...

Except that encourages huge signatures, ones larger than many posts. That gets people to turn signatures off (it's an option in the forum's User Control Panel), and then you're back where you started. :(

I find signatures with huge font below posts with normal sized font especially aggravating.

Fair. :)

Of course, it's your forum; you can selectively disable BBCodes in signatures if you want to figure out how. I've seen it happen on other vBulletin 3.8.x forums; I could leave my signature the same, but if I wanted to change anything I had to remove the codes that were no longer allowed.

Nah, it's not that big a deal. I can only recall seeing such a signature once, and the poster kindly reduced it when requested.

I like the idea, although I'm admittedly an every-blue-moon poster.

Wow, offhanded comment sparks a trend.

I've seen a ton of people already doing this in the forums. Neat.

Apparently, I do have good ideas. (don't tell my wife, she'll call you a liar)

I have mixed feelings about using the signature area, on one hand it makes one's information readily available, but on the other it makes each thread progressively long due to all those being added to each response.

Can the forum software be set to show the sig on first post each thread only?
