There doesn't seem to be a way to change from using Milestones for level advancement to XP. Do I have to rebuild the entire character from scratch just to do this seemingly simple thing?

Go to Character > Configure Hero > Click to change Hero settings > Scroll to Advancement speed > Click on Standard Advancement.

OK, that seems obvious now. I was posting last night when super tired so the obvious escaped me, obviously.

No worries My reply was a bit short since I was out and about so just wanted to get straight to the solution, glad it helped!

Hey, AussieDM, don't worry, THANKS for asking. We switched from XP to milestone in my game and I was just calculating the XP needed for the next level and adding that when I hit a milestone. It didn't even occur to me to switch from XP to milestone and I'd forgotten that milestone advancement was even an option until I your post reminded me of it. After a good slap to the forehead, I've switched over to milestone. Much easier.
