Player Journal Question

We are going to get a Player Journal before calendars, not my choice but it's happening. My question is how will it work?

My group plays every-other-week and with people's schedule sometimes it can be longer before we play. I started using Obsidian Portal for several years for the Adventure Log to help me and the players refresh our memories of what happened last session. I think the site was broken when the owners redid it then deserted it (but that's another thread) and Realm Works came out about that time. RW really wasn't the same as OP's Adventure Log but now I figured out how to create my own Adventure Log. I created a Topic called Journal and created a new topic for each session. I create a title and use the session date for the prefix. The only difference is that in OP I liked to include pictures to match the event that the text wrapped around which isn't a big deal.

How will the RW journal be different/work compared to what I created?
