So, many months ago I looked at HeroLab for 4E. At the time, there was apparently problems with creating characters using any of the "essentials-based" classes. This apparently had to do with the AEDU power format.
I really like what I see with this product AND I really want to support the people at Lone Wolf Development. But I will not spend money on a character builder that won't support all of the 4E classes. I have the old offline character builder, and the custom content supports all of those classes. But I really, really, REALLY dislike the character sheet output. That being said, can anyone tell me if HL works with ALL of the 4E classes and maybe give me some reviews/opinions? Thanks! |

Which ones don't work? It seemed to work with them when I used it to make quite a few essentials.

I don't know which ones don't work. That's kind of the point. I just recall about 8-12 months ago (maybe longer now that I think of it) reading that all of the essentials-style classes (like vampire and slayer and binder) didn't work. A few people had posted that they were building custom stuff to make classes like them, but that "out of the box" the HL builder wouldn't work with those classes.
So I'm trying to see if they do in fact work. |

There is no Paragon classes for these, they are to progress but stay in the class. You can pick other paragons but all of the Heroes of the Fallen Lands are missing the class info above level 10. they do work in the DDI and are listed in the compendium.

I don't know what the Paragon Path has to do with my question.
I'm just trying to get confirmation that if I buy HL and use it to import the data from my DDI subscription, will I be able to build all of the classes in the 4E compendium without having to download/utilize custom scripts? |

I created a 12th level Hexblade with both Hero Lab and the online CB. The exact, same character! So, I think that I answered your question. Sadly, if you want to create an Essentials character, HL should not be an option. |

I just made up the character, I have 1 point to spent in abilities still (FYI) I am not sure why the AC and REF are higher in the CB, is there a reason? I look and AC is base 10 + 1/2 level + armor (10+6+9=25)
I have attached the file for you to look over (no skills) added |

HL does not edit out the other forms for paragon class features it list them all with no real way to edit or even not have them print.

Hey here is what I came up with for fixes.
The Rod Expertise Feat is not working, it is missing the item id for the feat inside the program (~the appropriate type var isfound as number foreach pick in hero where "EquipIndex.? & ImplemType.itRod") But I have fixed it using the Tools and included the .user file for anyone that needs it. I have included a PDF of the character (with out name) The Feat fix increase the Attack powers to hits and the AC to 26 and the Ref to 23, I am not sure what makes the DDI/CB give the character a 27 AC, the break down as I see it; AC= base (10)+ half level (6) + armor (scale 7) + magic bonus to armor (2) + Rod Expertise (1) that all adds up to a 26 unless I missed something in there. Hope this helps just let us know if there is anything else. SAbel Use this web site for other fixes and theme ect http://hl4e.cryptoknight.org/index.php |

Oh The Paragon stuff still loads all the options, and I do not have the abilities to fix that sorry someone who is a tech wiz will need to look at it and fix it.
