That's for 2nd edition, right? Does 3e have the same issue, or is that a different kettle of fish?

FWIW, it might not hurt to show the modifier to the stability check, particularly if a method is given to boost it, like being allow to add Mighty to the Trip.

Is that a simple +4 melee / +2 range, or is it more involved than that?

Yes, what I posted about the TRIP power is in relation to 2e.

I'm staying focused on bugs within 2e while everyone else zooms ahead to the sparkly, pretty, shiney, new-fangled 3e.
