I'd like to be able to record as part of my "owned" cards those that are in
transit so that I don't go out and get more of those same cards when I
don't strictly need to.

I'd personally prefer not to add these cards to my "owned" until they
actually arrive, however I'd like them able to be included...and I'd also
*love* to be able to note whom the transit cards were coming from.

Any chance of having something like this added to CV?

You could add those as 'Reserved' quality, then, when they arrive, move
them from Reserved to Mint (or whatever quality they actually happen to be).

Adding notes to cards in the inventory would be more difficult to do, and
isn't currently possible. I'll ask Rob to put it on the to do list.

Thanks,

I just use Post-It Notes ^__^

Put them by your PC or with the cards for that particular game until the cards come in the mail or w/e.

Scientists have shown that the moon is moving away at a tiny yet measurable distance from the earth every year. If you do the math, you can calculate that 85 million years ago the moon was orbiting the earth at a distance of about 35 feet. This would explain the death of the dinosaurs. Well, the tall ones anyway. -- Unknown

I have 4-5 piles of paper a foot high by *each* of my PCs, much of which is
card related.

Putting paper with my magic cards would be difficult, which of the 50-60
boxes do I put the paper in?

Dude, 3 hole punch + 3 ring binders. Thats what I use, and things will be simpler to find too.

Whichever one would be most appropriate for that particular card, or, you could just use a special box for an IN/OUT box. Makes things a lot simpler when you trade/buy/sell by mail a lot.

And my desks would collapse under the weight of the folders!
Hey, I've had a thought, maybe this computer doo-hickey on my desk could
store my notes!

Good idea, however I'm much more interested in having CV modified so that I
can use it to do all the tasks associated with maintaining my card
collection...

Well, of course. I look forward to the day when all I'll need is CV and my actual cards. Just throwing out some ideas for stop-gaps till they can get CV up to our standards;-) I only wish they had the resources to do everything we want and need as fast as we can come up with new things for CV to do:-P

I think relieving them of the burden of datafile maintenance would be a
good start!
But I have a vested interested in doing that anyway

I know I've been doing my share :-P (5 datafiles and 6 skins under my belt)

That sounds like it might be useful. :-)

I've now added it to the todo list. As mentioned before, that doesn't
guarantee it will be in the next release, but it will definitely be on the
list of things considered for the next release.

FYI: The things that also get added first are the things that we think are
most useful to the widest number of users, along with those things that
users ask for the most.

Thanks, Rob
