"Metal" criteria for special materials

I wanted to kick this around in the forums before I submitted a bug report (and go through checking the weapon lists) in case I'm missing something.

I've found that several weapons are ineligible for special materials due it not being a metal item or having metal components. I was curious what the database used to tag a weapon as eligible for the materials.

I haven't done an exhaustive check yet but so far I've found Cestus Battleglove, Basic Handaxe, Sledge, Tactical Switchblade, and Hook Sword. All of these items could conceivably be made of metal\have metal components but aren't meeting whatever is required to add a material.
