Dark Elves - General Needs Magic?

I was building out a Dark Elf army and selecting the "Master" Noble, for a character and checked the box to make him the General. I get an error that say something about the General must have magic powers? Going through the army book, I can't find any such rule. Can somebody explain this for me?

this isn't happening for me, do you ahve any other items on him or other heroes in the army??
