Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
cardvault group: Assume Card Vault partners with a major magazine (like Scrye or InQuest) to allow price downloads. The magazine will insert a small card with a password to that issue's prices. Thus, to download the prices, you must purchase the magazine, then use the password to download the prices. These prices would include all Magic prices, most or all prices from other major games, and select prices from other games. What would you be willing to pay *per year* to access these prices for every copy of that magazine that you purchase that year? o I wouldn't pay anything. o Only a couple bucks o $5 o $10 o $15 o $20 o $30 To vote, please visit the following web page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cardva...ys?id=11115045 Note: Please do not reply to this message. Poll votes are not collected via email. To vote, you must go to the Yahoo! Groups web site listed above. Thanks! ------------------------ Yahoo! I am a LoTR player and I feel Scrye is highly biased to Pokemon and
Yu-Gi-Oh so I am not interested in paying $25 to read like 3 pages of LoTR stuff (most unaccurate) plus I find their prices highly incorrect (the most expensive card they ahve listed is like $7 and the highest foil is like $15, please come on now). The same goes for Inquest though I never had a membership I remember they were highly biased towards M:TGm, not sure about the prices though I never liked their SWCCG prices. But, to answer you real Q I would not pay more then $10 for just the price info (no mags included) and no more then normal subscription price for the mag with downloadable price info. ------------------------ Yahoo! I voted, but I'd like to say that I would not be willing to buy a
magazine just to get the pricing info. I've seen some of these magazines, and frankly, they're not that great. I could get any Magic info I could possibly need from Wizard's site or one of its many affiliates. However, I would be willing to pay a yearly fee for just the pricing info. I suppose I'd subscribe to the magazine if the yearly subscription fee is less than or equal to what I'd be willing to pay for the pricing info, but that's not likely. What I'd like to see is Card Vault making a deal with Essential Magic. I believe EM computes its card prices daily, using a computer to calculate the average value of all eBay sales of each card in recent history. It would be simple enough to integrate whatever routines or algorithms they use into Card Vault, or simply become a partner site. It wouldn't help any other games, but if there's any Magic site to which I'd be willing to give money for pricing info, it'd definitely be EM. If you've never heard of EM, you can check out their site at www.essentialmagic.com. I don't think I need to advertise for them any more, as the stunning depth and quality of their site is instantly apparent. BL Alien ------------------------ Yahoo!
