So some gods received no sanctification entry in the errata. In updating some of my characters I've found a couple cases where this introduced a problem. Are characters who made choices that now require sanctification just out of luck for those character options?

AoN lists some 15 deities out of 244 with "Sanctification: None". For those I think you're just out of luck post-remaster.
The upcoming Divine Mysteries book may officially fill in that info for any others that are different or missing between HLO and AoN. The discussion indicates that most (if not all) of the deities and such that were published pre-remaster will be in there barring OGL issues. |

Yeah, this is specifically a deity that has not gotten a sanctification entry. Erik Mona has said everything in Gods & Magic should be covered in Divine Mysteries. Hey, Lone Wolf, can we get sanctification status added to custom deity and / or an adjustment to sanctify holy/unholy?

Submit a bug report/feature request please. Asking here isn't a great way to get such things in. That said, I could have sworn I added a sanctification selector to custom deity. An adjustment seems like it would be decent though, get that request in please so we can get it logged and looked at when there's time

I'll do that. I did find it on custom deity once I added one but can't seem to find a place to select the holy sanctification once I've set it on the deity. The workaround seems to be to check off that's it's required. Where does one choose sanctification on the character once a custom deity that allows it is assigned?

Whether you're sanctified or not is usually set by your class - on Clerics and Champions, for example, it's an ability called "Deity" on the Cleric or Champion class that covers whether you're sanctified or not.
If your deity says sanctification is required, then the class ability will note that setting, and automatically set sanctification on your character, and if sanctification is allowed by that deity, you'll need to make that choice on that ability - that's the same as how sanctification works on a standard deity. |

That's not accurate—it's not set by the champion class. It's set by the deity's requirements. If you "can be" but aren't required to be by the deity's sanctification entry then you choose whether or not to be sanctified.
When setting sanctification options for a custom deity, however, if I don't select "sanctification required" and just provide the option to be holy, I can't find anywhere to elect to be sanctified. If I set it to "required" then it automatically assigns the trait as described on page 88 of PC2. But that's not the same thing as having the option to be sanctified or not. Per PC2 under Champion > Sanctification: Quote:

The Sanctification setting was on the Cleric Dedication feat when I tried that. Last edited by Parody; August 8th, 2024 at 12:39 AM. |
