General AB Suggestions:
Allow us to turn off the confirmation dialogs (i.e. for validation when
saving, anytime we want to delete or remove something). I think many
would
like this.

None of the lists validate properly according to the force organization
charts, remember after the First HQ & 2 Troops you may begin another
force
organization chart, And so on. This may be a limitation of the current
build
of Army Builder or the Data Files.

Possible bugs or
Data Files Errors:
-----------------
Tyranids:
Tyranids Warriors always fail weapon validation.
Options Are: 2 CCWeapons
Devourer
Deathspitter
0-1 Heavy Weapon (Venom or Barbed)

All/None May have flesh hooks
Data files looks ok, appears to be AB bug, bug I am no expert.
-----------------
Chaos Marines:
All members of the champions retinue may be upgraded to aspiring
champions
without the need for standard cult marines. ex: Exalted Champion w/Mark
of
Khorne may have 4 Aspiring Champions of Khorne as a retinue. Currently
to not
have to use Std troops you must take 9 Aspiring champions.

Could be limitation of Army Builder.
-----------------
Space Wolves:
Doesn't matter too much with Codex due if a few months, however:
Wolf Guard calculations are incorrect, the total number of Wold Guard
models
should be checked against the total point value of the army, not as it
is now
where a single WG leading scouts is counted as an Elites choice. ALL
Wolf
Guard count as a single elites choice.

Yes, I could have fiddled with the data files for hours trying to
figure out
what's what in further detail, but I don't like rewriting others
stories or
code, and a data file is close enough to code for me to leave it to the
original authors.

Wolf Lord
Hive Swarm
Khornate Follower
Necron Bully
and so much less.

It is relatively easy to accommodate taking 2 force organisation charts.
Create a new datafile and select augment. Select new and select race in
record type, enter the prefix xx in the prefix/id box, this will apply
the force organisation to all races. This is wrong for only a couple
(assassins springs to mind and necrons) you could always make it race
specific by entering the appropriate race prefix. If you do it as a race
specific entry it is still better to do it in a separate file, otherwise
you will need to redo it every time you upgrade the dataset.

Select special attributes and enter the following

xbrk:"Standard*2"="HQ@2-4,Elit@0-6,Trp@4-12,Fast@0-6,Hvy@0-6"-mode=prim2
moderim2="Standard*2"-rules="Standard*2"

this will enable you to take the standard mission with two force
organisation entries.

Repeat for all the other versions you require.

xbrk:"Battle-Attacker*2"="HQ@2-4,Elit@0-6,Trp@2-12,Fast@0-6,Hvy@2-6"-mod
e=btlatt2
mode:btlatt2="Battle-Attacker*2"-rules="Battle-Attacker*2"
xbrk:"Battle- Defender*2"="HQ@2-2,Elit@0-4,Trp@4-12,Fast@0-2,Hvy@0-6"-mo
de=btldef2
mode:btldef2="Battle- Defender*2"-rules="Battle- Defender*2"

The above does the same for the battle-attacker scenario and battle-
defender. They can all be entered as a job lot under the one race entry.
Save the file with an appropriate name and extension, say force2.40k,
and you should now be able to select the mission type as either single
or double. I have tried this with orks and it works. I have not done all
of the missions since I usually just play the standard mission. Whenever
you upgrade ensure that you don't select the entry to delete files that
aren't upgraded otherwise you will lose your work. Back it up to be on
the safe side. I can send you a copy of my version if you want to see
how I did it, since the above may not be overly clear. Mine also
contains a few ork amendments but you can ignore or delete those.

In reality I merely copied and pasted between Colen's entries and my own
file, amending each entry to reflect 2 force organisation charts etc.
This helps speed up the process, just don't paste when you should be
copying

Hope that helps.

Sort of. It's possible to let you do this, but I decided against it:

1) How would you know which chart was which?
2) Why not just create a second army?
3) The '2-6 troops' things would be changed (i.e. if you had enough HQ's
for two detachments, you could take 7 troops), but any 'max 1 general',
'max 1 greater daemon' rules wouldn't.

It's Your Setup.

Download the latest files to fix this (http://www.skrill.org/ in the
Army Builder section).

If you add 9 champions, the number of normal bods decreases to zero.
Then just decrease the number of champions to however many you want.

This seems to be working correctly from here. Can you give me a specific
combination of units that causes the problem (download the new files
first, if you don't mind ?

one thing i would like changed is when you select show special characters in
the main menu, it stays on permenantly after you quit then reenter
armybuilder. i hate it when it turns itself off. i would prefer it if it was
a user thing only. a user turns it on and stays on - until the user turns it
off.

just something i would prefer.

Ahh... this was exactly the problem I was having and wanted solved.
Thanks.
There is one more thing though (and you may call this cheesy... but
it's not, becuase it gets made up for in the point cost)... How could I
make a retinue of aspiring champions for my Exalted Champ and give them
all jump packs. This seems impossible becuase even though there are no
actual regular Khorne Berzerkers in the retinue, the actual unit is
still listed (just with a number of 0 models). Is there a way around
this? hmm... an Exalted Champ and 5 Berzerkers all with jump packs and
power weapons, sure I could just save points and stick them in a rhino,
but that's no fun . Although 500 pts is a lot for one squad, it
could work... maybe.

Thanks
Ryan

At the time I was using the Tau data files, I just grabbed the upsilon
set and it being friday will put it to full use this evening, will let
you know if there are still any further issues I stumble across. Thanks
for the Help, and you too Versif, didn't see the need for multiple
replies.

Or rather, No It's Not. :P

Hmm. How strange. I'll ask Rob about it, everything *seems* to be in
order...

Instead of all this, just adding the attribute:

gmul

Should do the trick.

Ok, using your upsilon data file I still get this error. I am using
1.4d, first thing I do is add a hive tyrant and two termagant groups to
remove the min force organization validation error, then I add a group
of 3 tyranid warrior brood. they come default with 3 CCW (this should
be 3 sets of CCW but this is just a semantics thing). At this point if
I check the validation results I get the following:

Not enough options of category 'CCWeapon+RngWeapon+HevyWeapon' are
assigned to unit 'Tyranid Warrior Brood' (min unit size).

I can remove all and properly arm them (say with 3 devourers) and still
get the same error, I can give them 6 CCW, 6 of each ranged weapon and
a heavy weapon (total 19 weapon choices) and get the same error.

While I do just overlook this as being an error and print my army list
anyway, it does appear to be a bug in the validation of this data file.
Let me know if anyone else can replicate this error, I have no problem
doing so, but maybe my AB install got corrupt or something. And I do
import not unzip the data files.

LOL, the really funny part is that I had read how this operated some
time ago and promptly forgot about it. Damn, it would have saved all
that copy and paste trouble that I went to just for the fun of it
The only problem is that it does still show a validation error although
it does say within the validation message that valid as a multiple of 2
or 3 or whatever it is. This is minor compared to the trouble of
entering all the different force chart options.

Cheers
