Hello,

When I create a Unit of Man at Arms or Bowmen, the Stats show a 6+* WSv. This is not possible now since The Blessing of the Lady only applies to Knightly Units or those with the "Vow".

Can this be investigated?

Respectfully,

Mike

I also created a Unit of Mounted Yeomen; they too are indeed Peasants, (they have the peasant's duty rule) so they do not or should not receive the 6+* WSv either.

The difference between a Peasant and Knight is simply defined by their special rules. All peasant units have the Peasant's Duty rule. All Knights have either the Knights Vow, the Questing Vow or the Grail Vow special rules, whereas the Lady's Blessing would apply. Correct?

Please investigate.

Cheers.

Is it the 6+ ward save from hand weapon and shield? Well, not for the mounted unit but the others?

The Men At Arms cannot use a HW+Shield as they must be equipped with either Spears or Halberds, though in AB they also have a HW.

It looks like Army Build gives the 6+* ward save to troops that have a HW and shield, even though they may be mounted or have another weapon in addition to the HW. If this is the case, it would be an error.

Every model in WHFB comes with a hand weapon which is why AB gives them a HW even thought it might note be listed in the army book.

Which is fine, but if the troop is armed with another weapon in addition to the hand weapon they will not be eligible for the parry save.

I am just saying that it seems like the logic built into AB for the parry save is:

if(HW+Shield)
-> Give Parry Save

Rather than figuring in the things that negate the parry save (mounted, another weapon, etc).

well the issue is this...

if for some reason your weapon gets destroyed (certain magic items can indeed do this) then suddenly you are now using a hand weapon and shield combo again.... which means that now once again the model / unit gets the parry save.

So, if there are times when you get it adn tiems when you don't.... wouldn't it be best to lsit it as a 6* to denote that it's for special circumstances rather than totally omitting it? Which is what AB currently does...

the problem i see with this, is that some people would want it listed, adn others would not want it list. Unless we find another way to denote this, i'm open for ideas.

This is how it should stay.
