Does this thing take up level slots? Does it modify the way an existing class functions? Does it alter the overall character? Does it do the exact same thing for every character, or do its effects vary depending on the classes/races/other choices you've made for your character? Is it optional, or does everyone have to take it?

yes to all that, and it's optional. But, it's cool, I think I will just stick with the class with no prereq. Thanks anyways.
