Hi All, while trying to share the new game system for other to test, what do they need to do?
I have created a .hl file, which imports correctly, but only sees to open in demo mode? have I missed anything here? |

If someone doesn't own the authoring kit package, then any game systems created with the authoring kit will run in demo mode for them.

Thanks for the quick reply :-)
I will get them to pick up the authoring kit then. |

If you want to test, send me a PM and I will send you the file.
:-) Slowly working on it when I have time, still cleaning up the presentation of skills having just made races and templates work better. |

hmm have an interesting issue with Advancement
When I try and advance a type of skill (I have Dex, Kno, Mec, Per, Str, Tec, Adv and Force skill types) of the type Force, I get the following error that I can't seem to fix. "This selection is not permitted (all effects are ignored)" Anyone got an idea on how to fix it? |

That sounds like the sort of error you'd get due to containereqs or conditions, or some other way of controlling whether something is live or not - it happens when something that's been added manually by the user becomes non-live, and in a way Hero Lab doesn't expect.

I'm guessing that Force skills aren't allowed to be taken unless something gives you access to them. If that's the case, I'd recommend using a prereq to keep those who can't use them from taking them, instead of controlling their live/non-live state - that way, if a user starts making a force-capable character, and changes their mind about what sort of character to build, when they delete whatever gave them access to the force skills before deleting the skills themselves, they'll only get an error message from each skill, and you won't have to worry about the live state of those skills.

Was a containerreq.
already had prereq's in a later update of the code, but left the containerreq in there. Works now thanks, you pointed me at the right source :-) |

I'm currently documenting what I have done, and intend to display the design up if any one wants to comment on it or take inspiration on what they are doing themselves...
