I love Hero Lab for the most part. It greatly helps my ability to track things during game and document events in game.
However, the Summary Panes (columns) on the main page are extremely hard to read for any sort of text of any significant length. A suggestion for improvement would be to turn the Summary panes (Statblock, Skills and Feats, Armory, Gear, etc) into tabbed sections that would cover the entire space instead of having multiple columns that can be hidden. This would allow for greater formatting ability for the text allowing for greater readability/usability. |

Aren't there already separate tabs for everything in the Summary columns? Or am I missing something? Which data set are you primarily using?

Each game system defines its own summary panels, so I recommend saying which game system you'd like changed.

This is for the Pathfinder game system. All the summary windows are in non-tabbed columns.

Right, but all the info from the summary columns are in the individual tabs elsewhere

That may be, but the problem is is that the summary windows are too narrow and cut off the text in them

If you close summary columns that you don't use, the others would be wider allowing more text in each column to be read.
I understand your point over all - I'd like it that if I closed/hide the summary columns, then the main tab "window" actually got wider/larger. |

I think the tabbed idea is a really good one.
