Hi,
I'm guessing you implemented Robe as Magic Armor to comply with the Magic Items on the Body rule in DMG (pg 214 in Oct 2005 printing) where a character can only wear "One robe or suit of armor". The down side to this is it impacts all the Monk abilities that restrict against armor (at least as of Hero Lab 2.0). One suggestion would be to change the Hero Lab implementation to add an Equipment Type of "Body" to Wondrous magic items and add the "Body" tag to all suits of armor. This should enable satisfying of Magic Items on the Body validation without penalizing Monk Special Abilities that restrict against armor. I think this would be more in the spirit of the DMG descriptions where magic robes are listed under Wondrous Items rather than Armor. I checked the WOTC site and found no indication that robes are treated as armor. On the contrary, I did find a suggestion for a robe of mighty fists in the WOTC article Rules of the Game: Making Magic Items (Part Six), found at URL: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/20050111a I think this would also avoid the warning for Wizards, etc. not being proficient with their robes as was indicated in another forum topic. Thanks, Cho-G |

Thanks for the report! This will all be fixed in the next version of HL. -- Colen McAlister, colen@wolflair.com Chief Engineer, Lone Wolf Development |
