If you've been very dumb and put your Undead creatures into one of the Almanacks rather than the Mechanics section, is there any way of moving them short of retyping the entries?

Not that I'd do that. No, of course not.

I retyped mine.

You may be able to copy the entry and then readjust things to match the category settings over in the new category, but that scares me.

If there were a solution, it would not be worthy of someone capable of such a terrible mistake.

Note : don't recreate the topics in mechanics ... just leave them be in the almanach. It's not the perfect spot but it's no big deal.

What you can do:

1) Move the topics to a custom category. If they already are a custom category, great. Otherwise, duplicate the category they are in and then move the topics to that new category
2) In Manage Categories, move the custom category to Articles
3) Optional: Move the articles from the custom category to the Article category you want them in and delete your custom category

Assuming that you are using a pre-defined category, try the following...

1. Go into the Category Manager and create a new category called Transfer (or some such).
2. Make sure the category only has a single section type with the same name as the first section of the current category your monsters are built from (e.g. Overview).
3. Convert each monster entry to the new Transfer category. There is an option to do within in the menu for each topic.
4. Go back into the Category Manager and designate the "Transfer" category as an Article category instead of Story.
5. At this point, all your creatures will appear as articles instead.
6. Convert each monster entry to the desired article category using the same method you used in step 3.
7. Once all the monsters are migrated, delete the no longer necessary "Transfer" category.

Please note that I haven't actually tried this, but I'm pretty darn sure this technique will work. Just in case, try it for only one monster first.

Doh! Ninja'd by David!

He consolidated a few steps, so he got to hit "Post" faster than me.

This method worked beautifully, thank you. All my undead are now not cluttering up the World Almanack.

Isn't that the purpose of undeads, to invade the world ?
Why did you banned them, they were roleplaying their character !

I haven't banned them, I've just moved them to a place where they're not listed under 'people'. The characters will encounter them in a place and at a time of my choosing.
