Ok, so I checked ahead in THIS forum for mounts. No dice (just unrelated stuff). I thought I had HL totally down pat, but then the group took a year off to investigate the Dark Side…other, less savory software. Needless to say, the group is back to HL. Hooray!!!
The DM has gifted to me a Giant Vulture as a mount (a few other peeps took on Hypogryphs, but if I can do the vulture, I can do the hypogryphs, right?). The Giant Vulture is a separate "race," but not a mount. The setup for mounts/minions is totally different in 5e than in Pathfinder and I can't seem to find the right way to connect a "Mounts & Other Animals" to a vulture. This is important because unlike horses, donkeys, camels, and elephants, vultures happen to fly. Who doesn't want a flying mount? So here's what I need—since I seem to have forgotten all of my Pathfinder skills—a step 1, 2, 3…to creating a custom mount for 5e. If I can do it for one "race," then surely I can do it again for another. Hell, I could probably make a Gnome as a mount if I so chose, but let's not go there for now… Thanks! |

Ok so open your editor.
General > Minion/Hirelings > New (Copy> (Select Something) > Modify It > Give it a unique name > Test Now! > Win |

daplunk: almost…you skipped a step, but I found it anyhow:
Under the Minion button, click on Bootstrap and adjust the variable to equal that of "Poor Gnome." THAT carries over all things like flight speed, special attacks, etc. DO NOT COPY "Mounts & Other Animals" because the appropriate bootstraps are not related back to the race! (I'm going over my steps in case anyone else runs down the same dark alley that I did!). Thanks, Daplunk!!! |

Personally, I just copy an existing mount, then change the copy to the stats of whatever I need.
Watch your back, Conserve your ammo, and NEVER cut a deal with a dragon! |
