I'm afraid I'm going to need to walk you through gizmos, because you'll need to have your specialties linked to the individual skills. Adding them at the bottom, not linked to the skills, won't accomplish what you want it to accomplish. RavenX, you'll need the same information for gear customization. I'll try to get that written out this weekend.
Here are the few pages on the topic that do exist in the authoring kit wiki at this time, on the subject of entities, gizmos, and forms: http://hlkitwiki.wolflair.com/index....ies_and_Gizmos http://hlkitwiki.wolflair.com/index....nels_and_Forms http://hlkitwiki.wolflair.com/index.php5/Entity_Element_(Data) |

Yep, Gizmos are going to be essential for Doctor Who. Gadgets are a big part of the game. Gadgets cost a set number of Story Points (resource), Minor Gadgets have 1 CP for Traits (and can just have 1) but can have a bad trait as well to let it have 2 CP for a Major good trait. Major Gadgets have 2 CP (for 1 Major trait or 2 Minor) and can have up to 4 CP with additional bad traits. a Special Gadget has 4CP and up to 4 additional. Each type of gadget holds Story Points as well (1, 2 or 4+ depending) (The amount of Story Points of the gadget is what the hero pays to have it...)
So, very much looking forward to Gizmo discussion. |

I am looking forward to it as well.
I can finally see the end of this tunnel in sight. And its nice. I have most of the data entry done now from the character creation chapters. Just a matter of cleaning it up and getting it all integrated into the game properly. |

The information about gizmos is finished now. It's in this thread: http://forums.wolflair.com/showthread.php?t=43341
I decided to make it a new, stickied thread, since others will need to read it down the road. |

Thanks Mathias!
I've read the post over and I'd like to see if I understand things from my Game System PoV. 1. As skills will have zero or more Area of Expertise, the Skill component would need to be defined as an entity or would it have a helper added? 2. The child would actually bootstrap an AoE component (skSkillAoE compset)? Thoughts? |

The <child> you would add to each individual skill is the entity/gizmo.
The user would add the specialties within the gizmo after they'd added the skill. |

Hey TcArKnight, I just thought of something. You got the psionics tab to show up in pathfinder somehow... did you create that yourself or is the same as the d20 ogl tab? If its the same we could make some powers in that editor, open the file as XML and figure out the fields and tags for the powers we already have and get them into hero lab through raw xml possibly...
