Suspended Equipment?

Under building a character, what is suspended equipment? I tried searching here, and in the various help pages. I have no idea what it means.

Stuff you won't be actively using - loot you want to sell later but won't use in combat, the torches that came with your adventurer's pack, but you've got the light spell, or the natural attack you'll never actually use. It keeps it off the play tab - helps you focus on the useful gear.
