The following is something I've done on my own character sheets for quite a while (I have a horrible tendency to roll 1's on vital saving throws and lose an item, usually circlets of persuasion). It helps save a bit of time at the table, keeping from having to look up the order of effect table and then rooting thru my magic item lists to fill in the slots.

List magic items on the character sheet by order damaged when a saving throw is failed on a 1 (this information is in the Magic Overview document in the SRD).

For example, on one of my character sheets I have items listed as so:
(1st) +3 Heavy Mithral Shield
(2nd) +2 Mithral Full Plate
(3rd)
(4th) +2 Holy Adamantine Scimitar
(5th) Cloak of Charisma +4
(6th) Darkwood Composite Longbow (+4)
(6th) Cold Iron Warhammer
(6th) Sling
(7th)
(8th) Belt of Giant Strength +4
(8th) Gloves of Dexterity +4
(8th) Vest of Resistance +4
(9th) Amulet of Health +4
(9th) Ring of Evasion
(9th) Ring of Protection +3
And then generic non-worn magic items listed afterwards.

The empty slots at (3rd) and (7th) are for item categories I wasn't carrying (Magic helmet, hat, or headband and Magic bracers respectively).

Not a huge thing, but something I've found useful myself.
