Can you set up multiple inventory lists, for multiple people? I'd like to be able to use CV for appraisal and valuation purposes...

Card Vault is currently designed as a single-user tool. Consequently, there is no way to setup the inventory database to operate for multiple people.
That being said, you could potentially utilize the different quality ratings for different purposes - even different people. If each person tracked their cards as a different quality (e.g. Jim uses Fair and Bill uses Poor), then it would be possible to manage up to six different collections of cards. This isn't necessarily a good solution, but it is a way to achieve what you're seeking. There's another technique you could use. If you have multiple User Accounts on the computer, you can install CV separately for each account. You can even install CV into the same location for each account. Since CV maintains all of its settings separately for each user, you could then move the inventory location to a distinct folder for each user. For example, Jim could store his inventory in c:\CardVault\Jim and Bill could store his inventory in c:\CardVault\Bill. The important detail here is that the inventory storage would depend on which user is actually logged into Windows. Hope this helps.... |
