Switching factions

Is there a way to switch factions in HL without getting the red "too many factions" warning text?

I ask because it is actually possible to switch factions in PF, it costs 10 times your current level in Prestige points to do so. Perhaps implemented as a Vanity?

Ah, yes, 3 times, was going off memory, sorry. I think I was confused because my current character is 10th level.

My point stands, though. Is there a way to perhaps add a Vanity/Prestige award that allows adding a new faction?

Can't you just delete the old faction? You'll need to spend the prestige on your latest journal entry to pay for it, but then just deleting the old and adding the new should work, shouldn't it?

Okay, I just tried that, but that also removed all the previous faction's Fame and the faction tag from the journal entries associated with that faction.

It's only warning text - why not just add the second faction?

Just add a few faction journal entries - one to spend 3x level in prestige on the one faction, the other to add all the appropriate fame for the other faction, so that the amount of spending allowed remains correct at the top of that tab.

Yeah, that's what I am doing now. Thanks!

Kinda wondering if it'd be possible to do a custom Vanity in the editor, but I don't know where I'd start.
