Couple of my friends are thinking about picking up HL, but don't want to drop a ton of money on it (and are unwilling to try it out without full character options).
Has anyone created a character with a license that has many rule books (Pathfinder in this case) in use for that character, and opened that character up in a HL instance with only the core book licensed? Wondering how this would work, as I'd be willing to build their characters and send them files until they catch up on the licensing. Assuming this is allowed, of course. |

The iPad will work the same as what Tolbakai is describing as the behavior on the desktop - anything you don't have a license for will be removed from the character, but you'll get an error message listing what is being discarded as you open the character.

I let the group create their characters on my laptop, then print PDFs for them. I've had three computers going before when everyone was creating new characters, and just let the players take turns.
We're all friends anyway, so it's not like people were just grudgingly waiting in line. We had a good time. :-) |
