I have finally had my original .user files returned and did some work on an older version now I'd like to reconcile the two, is it possible to use a text editor to cut and paste the differences? So far it's been mostly miss.

For instance, I can see some things on my document that HL doesn't seem to be able to find when trying the compilation

EDIT: Aha! I think I found my problem...
Edit: ...and fixed it. Nevermind.

You should be able to use an editor for that. I have used Notepad in the past. You just need to be careful with the headers of each file.

yeah Notepad ++ for the win there. I was able to comb through and find what changes I made and unify them.
