Version 6.3 is now available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab. This release adds Dungeons of Golarion, the Pathfinder Society Field Guide, and the Mastering Combat chapter of Ultimate Combat.

Dungeons of Golarion and the Pathfinder Society field guide are in the new Campaign Setting #6 package, available for $4.99. This package will also include Inner Sea Magic in a future update, and may possibly include 1 or 2 other campaign setting books, to be determined.

The Mastering Combat chapter of Ultimate Combat is a free update for those who have purchased the Ultimate Combat package.

Here's the change list, copied from the FAQ:

New Releases!
  • Content from the Pathfinder Society Field Guide is now available in the new Campaign Setting #6 package. The Vanities and Prestige Awards from this book can be found on the Other tab. Their table will only be visible if you've selected a faction.
  • Content from Dungeons of Golarion is now available in the new Campaign Setting #6 package.
  • Added the Mastering Combat chapter from Ultimate Combat.
Enhancements & Changes
  • Ultimate Combat's "Firearms In Your Campaign" rules (pg. 135) are now available within the Hero Settings menu on the Configure Hero form. To re-open the Configure Hero form for an existing character, choose "Configure Hero" from the "Character" menu at the top of the Hero Lab window.
  • The "Magic Items to Show" section of the "Optional Rules" section of the Hero Settings has been renamed "Equipment, Weapons & Armor to Show", and many new options have been added to it - you can now choose to hide firearms (or just the early firearms or only the advanced firearms), siege weapons, eastern weapons & armor, gladiator weapons, stone age weapons & armor, bronze age weapons & armor and siege weapons. Note that these apply even if you don't have Ultimate Combat - for example, hiding Eastern Weapons & Armor will hide things like the Nunchaku and Shuriken from the Core Rulebook. To re-open the Configure Hero form for an existing character, choose "Configure Hero" from the "Character" menu at the top of the Hero Lab window.
Bug Fixes
  • Added the Firearms and Siege Engines weapon groups for fighters.
  • The Samurai was still proficient with the Bastard Sword, rather than the UC version of the Katana.
  • The Alchemist's Formula book was not printing.
  • The Skeletal Champion template should not be trying to suppress the abilities of other things.
  • The Weapon Finesse feat will now affect the melee touch attack.
  • The Cleanse spell from the APG was not available to Clerics.
  • Most spells associated with the Metal and Wood specilties had not been marked correctly, so specialist wizards were not able to choose them as specialty spells.
  • The text in the "Sell Quantity" incrementer on the Sell form is now more readable.
  • Gauntlet, Locked was missing from the weapons list.
  • Renamed "TPA" as "Fame" and "CPA" as "PP" in faction-related things.
Data File Authoring
  • Most tabs in the editor now have a "Special Groupings" button - this is where you can specify any groupings this item falls within. These are used by the new settings in the "Equipment, Weapons & Armor to Show" section of the Hero Settings menu.
  • Added firearm and siege engine-specific options to the Weapon and Weapon, Magic tabs.
  • Added a new "Vanities & Prestige Awards" tab in the editor.
  • Added the #hasvanity[Id] macro to simplify the process of making a prerequisite requiring a specific Vanity.
  • Skills can now be designated as Specialty skills. If a skill is either a Class Skill or a Specialized Skill, a +3 bonus is added to the skill. If the skill is both a Class Skill and a Specialized Skill, an additional +1 Competence bonus is also added. A skill can be designated as specialized either by assigning the Helper.SpecSkill tag to that skill, or assigning the SpecSkill.? identity tag for that skill to the hero.
  • Added the #makespecskill[Id] macro, to simplify the scripting for making a skill a specialized skill.
  • Added the #Fame[Id] and #PP[Id] macros to simplify the process of looking up the fame or prestige points of a faction. These replace the existing #TPA[ID] and #CPA[Id] macros, which should now be considered obsolete.
