Actually I think I will not use the skill specializations, it will just be easier overall.

That was why I never used them. I got into a discussion on the Pinnacle forums, concluded that they do not add anything to the game -- at least not for me, personally -- and decided to not use them. I figured that if I were to have someone be special with a weapon or skill I could make up an Edge that does what I need it to do, and no need to complicate things for all others just to make one character be special.

Ideas that I might consider this are pickpocketing for the Stealth skill and Disarm Traps for the Lockpicking skill. Maybe an edge that grants a bonus to just that type of action, but no need to require it.

Evil wins because good rolls poorly .... or the players are not paying enough attention to the game.

I can see situations where I'd prefer the specializations--but generally, I don't tend to use SW for those sorts of campaigns. Its less about one person being supposed to be particularly good with something, and more about everyone being too broad--where being focused is supposed to be the default, not the exception.
