We do plan to add printing, but haven't gotten to that yet - it's about halfway down our master list of All The Things To Do. We'll probably have text stat-block exports sometime before full printing.

The good news is that while it might take us a bit to get to character sheet printing, it should be much easier for our game system maintainers to update and improve printed sheets compared to the desktop Hero Lab, since it will be exactly the same kind of template code generating both the web UI and the printed copies.

Will there be a "play mode" like the iPad version has?

So, I applied for the Beta pretty much as soon as I knew they were accepting applications.

Still not on it.

Did they get too many applications? Or should I continue to wait? Or did I fall through the cracks ?

Yes. It has a "Play" tab as its now called and its very similar to the iPad display including the ability to roll dice and turn class abilities on/off.

In addition Adjustments & Conditions display and allow for turning them on/off.

P.S. - On my iPad I can display the "Play" tab in Portrait or Landscape mode. =)

They got a LOT of applications. They are letting people in as small groups. My brother signed up early morning the day the page came out and he only JUST got his invite this week.

Yeah—we're still fine-tuning and adjusting a lot of things to deal with various edge cases that have been worked out in desktop HL over the past 10 years, but our end goal is for all "during an encounter" stuff to be doable entirely in the Play tab, with the other tabs only being needed when adding loot afterwards and for character progression.

One extra factor to keep in mind here is that the numbers were substantially increased by people who have always been interested in HL but use platforms the desktop version doesn't support (Linux, Android).

I haven't seen this recommended yet but forgive me if I missed it.
Presently, skills are listed as ranks, bonus, and ability. Clicking on the skill gives some great information on skill use and rules.
I suggest that inside this detailed information for each skill, provide a breakdown of each bonus and its type.
This will have to more easily track what bonuses we have since certain types don't stack.
I suspect many of us would find this very useful.
