Is there a reason Hero-Lab shows the caster level for a Hound Archon's Greater Teleport spell-like ability as 20th level?
I know that some might say that with only a caster level of 6th that they could never cast Greater Teleport defensively or such, but my reply would be "well, okay." So I just wanted to see if I missed something like a Paizo FAQ or something on that. I have searched the messagebaords here and on the Paizo site for something on this, but to no avail. Thanks! |

According to the Bestiary 1, "Teleport (Su) Archons can use greater teleport at will, as the spell (caster level 14th)" so it's actually too high.
EDIT: Okay... In HL on the Background tab, it correctly lists 14th Caster Level for teleport. But the 'spell tab' raises the caster level - 20th for Hound, 17th for Lantern. I'll put in a bug report. Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew). HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP). DM and player of D&D since 1980. Last edited by Dami; February 17th, 2018 at 02:15 PM. Reason: Update |

Thank you!
Another case of an ability that would be nice to have listed as such under the creature entry and not have to search the appendices for it. So I do see where it says that Archons cast it as a spell-like ability at caster level 14th. This caused a brief moment of consternation at our table the other night. Thank you! Edit: It looks like Hero-Lab must be adding the base caster level 6th for spell-like abilities and the caster level 14th for that particular ability...
