How to change my familiar's feats?

I'm about to summon a new familiar, and I'd like to replace Weapon Finesse (and dodge, if it's legal) with a different feat. The UI doesn't have a 'delete' button anywhere I can see.


How can I change the familiar's base feat without creating a custom familiar?

Check out the Adjust tab. Here you'll find Adjustments that can be applied to a character. In the "Other Adjustments" section you'll find a few that relate to feats. You can use the "Feat/Trait Disable & Hide" adjustment to get rid of Weapon Finesse, and also add a "Feats Allowed" adjustment to increment their total feat count (essentially "refunding" the disabled feat so they can pick another).

The reason you're not seeing a delete button for the Weapon Finesse feat is because that feat is added automatically by something else on the character (probably their race). Only picks that the user has actually added to the character themselves (class levels, weapons, memorized spells, etc) can be deleted. Hence the need for an adjustment to hide/disable things you don't want.

For a familiar, there's an easier option than TheIronGolem's suggestion. Next to the where you chose a race on the Minion tab will be a "Customize?" button - click that and select "Customize Racial Feats".

The Customise option removes Dodge but not Weapon Finesse, at least on my Imp familiar. Before I saw the Adjust tab (which is awesome) I wound up cloning the race and creating a new one with Finesse removed and 1 feat available. Worked perfectly.

Thanks for the help everyone - I've removed my custom race and will stick with the adjustment for now.

Which familiar race is this? There are several races with Weapon Finesse as a racial bonus feat, so having the customize option remove it is incorrect. So in the Bestiary entry for that race, take a look at the feats - does it say "Dodge, Weapon FinesseB" (the B would be a superscript in the Bestiary). If so, then Dodge was the feat this creature took for its 1 HD, and is open to being swapped out for something else, and weapon finesse is a racial bonus feat - a permanent benefit of being a member of that race.

It doesn't remove weapon finesse because it's not a chooseable feat it's an automatic one for small and tiny critters.
