For those of you who posted in this thread, would you prefer "hot" drag and drop, or toggling a mode ......
For me either has their own pluses and minuses... simply having the capability is more than what we have.

I would say that a toggle would be best as it would then allow hot drag and drop for those who want it all the time and only have it active part of the time for people who are nervous about accidents.

+1 to this for me too. Either method is acceptable

Also agree a toggle for hot drag and drop would be nice, but definitely a +1 for the feature in either case.

I'd say either hot dnd with an undo option, or a right-click dnd with context menu like Windows gives you the option for.

Just improve the UI for easier data entry, better work with it, allow for format changes, and as part of that, yes.... allow to drag and drop the tree and keep RW REMEMBER these kind of settings....

drag and drop, but maybe also cutting + pasting topics to move them (ctrl+x)/(ctrl+v), allow navigation through the tree like in most file explorers to navigat up, down, "left" (one level up) , "right" (on level deeper)

CTRL+up / down to jump to the next section?

space to open the topic the "current position" of the navigation pane is locked on.

"just typing in the navigation pane" will start to search for the current topic. E.g. you have the topics

1Xxxxxx
2yyyyyy
3zzzzzz
3zzzzzzz

Typing 3.. will jump the "active position" to the best matching topic. Pressing up and down now will only select eligble topics (in the case above only the last two).

Each Backspace will remove "one character" from filter...

tab to move from the "navigation column" to the editing / view column
