Good morning, everyone! Just a quick note on a number of things regarding
the LotR files. First, I am aware of the issue with orphan records, and
will be posting a fix, hopefully tonight. I also know about a card-name
difference (pesky capitalization!) that will also be fixed. If anyone has
any other issues, please speak up!

Second, I have had a request to change the card numbers from FelR1 (for
example) to FelR001. This would facilitate proper sorting by card
number. The problem with this is that it would nuke everyone's
inventories. My current inclination is to *not* do this, for the inventory
issue alone. Unless I get an overwhelming response to do this, I'm going
to go with my preference and not do it.

Third, in the moderate future I am looking for someone with interest in
taking over mangement of the files. My schedule is just proving to be too
much in flux to provide the timely response that you all deserve. If
anyone is interested in doing this, contact me off-list
(turing2[at]rcn.com) and we can discuss an orderly transfer of the working
files.

Thanks,
Mark.

I vote strongly AGAINST changing any unique ids of cards. Here's a
suggestion that will hopefully keep everyone happy. :-)

You can define the card's unique id as FelR1, leaving it unchanged.
However, you can set the card number TAG to be FelR001, allowing it to be
readily sorted. The two values CAN be distinct/different, since they are
used for two very different purposes.

Hope this helps,
Rob

That's what I was leaning toward already, unless a REALLY
compelling reason came up to do it.

This could be useful. I'll have to check it out.

Mark.
