I have a cleric (class default is Trained in Fortitude) who is leveling up. I want to select the "Canny Acumen" trait in Fortitude. Here's the description of the feat:

Your avoidance or observation is beyond the ken of most in your profession. Choose Fortitude saves, Reflex saves, Will saves, or Perception. You become an expert in your choice. At 17th level, you become a master in your choice.

When I apply Fortitude, it doesn't change my Defenses stat (it is +7 before and after). Attempting to choose Reflex, however, does change the +7 to +9 (as expected). Is this a bug? Is there a workaround?

Thanks!

Is your character a Warpriest, by any chance? Warpriests are Expert in Fortitude saves already.

Sounds like a bug, then. You should report it via the bug reporting form, and until it is fixed you can use the Temporary Adjustment "Override Proficiency Level" to set your character's Fortitude Save to Expert.

Are you 3rd level or higher? Cloistered Cleric gets Expert in Fortitude at 3rd.

ah! I bet that's it then. I suspect that isn't the correct trait for me to take! I don't know how to see the current levels for fort/reflex/will. I only see the bonuses to rolls in the Defenses pane. Is there a way to see my current skill level in those?

It's shown in the Combat section of the Play page and in the list of Class Proficiencies and Class Features for each Class.
