SR4 condition modifiers

OK so I ran hero labs for the second time in play and i finally took damage. I gave myself 12 points of damage and at the top it says -4 in red. But it isn't changing any of my roll calculations. Do i just have to remember my negatives or am i doing something wrong?

I believe that is correct.
