I thought it would look more internally consistent (not to mention being
easier for me to handle) if there were seperate {Grand} Master of the
Deathwing entries from the usual Master and Grand Master. In a Deathwing
army he's not treated as a special character, you may notice. If enough
people object violently, I'll change it; does anyone have any strong
opinions on the matter?

As soon as you add him, the terminator armour cost of 25 points kicks
in.

Thanks!

I can accept that (especially in the case fo the Master of the Ravenwing,
who *is* quite definately a special character unless in a Ravenwing army).
But the Master of the Deathwing is never listed as a special character
anywhere, merely as a required HQ for a Deathwing army. I do think it works
better to have him as a separate HQ entry from the regular Master of the
Deathwing (I assume it would cause trouble to change the command squad from
tactical to Terminator when the HQ char is 'upgraded' to Master of the
Deathwing.) I just don't think he is a special character within the meaning
of the act (IE, you have to get your opponent's permission to use him).
Since it's a trivial workaround to put him in a non-deathwing army (just
turn on special characters and only use him), I won't be disappointed with
lack of urgency to change it.

Since I have I know the outrider who is planning to run the tournament where
I want to field the army in question, I've already asked him about it.

I saw that later, when it was pointed out to me. Sorry.

It would be an annoyance.

Anyone have any strong opinions on the above? I've changed the Deathwing
Masters to be not Special Characters for the next version, since they
aren't.

Here's an interesting one for you,

If you take a nob in the outriders warbike squad in the kult of speed, it
suddenly adds an HQ choice to your army...
