Type: NPC/Grunt, etc... Decoder Ring?

I swear I came across a table at one point with descriptions of what the various Character "Types" were intended for as well as the technical differences between them.

Anyone know of reference material for this? (Or was I just dreaming).

I'm referring to Type: NPC (Created as a PC) vs NPC vs Grunt for example.

Seems like Created as a PC doesn't behave the same as PC (doesn't seem to limit or track "starting" karma for example.

In the change settings window click the "Details" button off to the left.
