Hi guys,
So my new GM has bestowed on me several spell-like abilities, that I can learn to activate. The first is a bonus to natural AC. I'm trying to add this as a custom spell so I can turn it on and off in effects, but Im having an issue figuing out to how proceed. So, in hero lab opened the editor, did magic -> spell. New blank. Gave it a unique name, filled in a bunch of the dropdowns, but the part im lost in are the eval scripts. i found the "thing" abObeLama2" which is +1 to natural armor, but i dont know how to increase it to +3 or what else to do to make it work. If theres a reference that tells me how to do this stuff, im happy to try on my own. Just read a bunch of things and nothing connected all the dots. help? |

Ok so i did a copy of barkskin, and now Im more confused. i dont see any scripts, so fine, but i dont see where it sets the AC to +2 anywhere. I was gonna copy and edit real quick, but not to quick apparently.

Casting spells doesn't change anything on a character - that's why spells have no scripting. Look at the Spell Adjustment for Barkskin - that has scripts to modify AC.
Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew). HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP). DM and player of D&D since 1980. Last edited by Dami; March 17th, 2020 at 10:51 PM. Reason: Clarity |

Hi Dami, thanks for the response. As you can see above, I did copy the barkskin, but i didnt see where it actually applied the +2 for the AC, so I could change it to +3.

You need to look for the Adjustment called Barkskin, not the Spell.
It is the adjustment which you can toggle on/off to say whether the bonus should be applied to your stats. Farling Author of the Realm Works Import tool, Realm Works Output tool and Realm Works to Foundry module Donations gratefully received via Patreon, Ko-Fi or Paypal |
