Gromril armour + shield + rune of stone should provide a 2+ armour save or 2+/1+ when fighting in frontal combat.

With Army Builder, under the Sv column you only see 2+ and not 2+/1+


I've tried giving the same equipment to a runesmith and it gets a Sv value of 2+/1+
 
it shows as 2+/1+ for me w/ the Drwarf Lord and Runelord? which unit are you having a problem with?
 
A little more info

Ok, I've got a little more info to add from my previous post on this.

Give a Thane a Runic Weapon of any type and you can see the see the Save value change from 2+/1+ to 2+

In fact, now that I've gone back and checked. Many of the characters have this issue. Thane, Rune Smith, Lord and a Rune Lord when given a shield, runic armour (with the rune of stone) and any kind of runic weapon will have an armour save that goes from 2+/1+ to 2+.

i think this is normal? you only get the special +1 armor save bonus when you have a normal hand weapon and shield,, not a magic weapon and shield??
 
right, magic weapons don't give you the extra save. And only some of the normal weapons that grant effects grant that same armor save, according to the FAQ's. Ogre clubs don't, Choppas do.
