Okay, my first act to implement UA Class Variants, is to add those spells to the sorcerer list. Okay so I opened up COM_5ePack_PHB - Spells.user.

It only lists 57 spells and Grease isn't there? looking through the list, I don't see many spells. I believe my community pack is up to date. Am I looking in the wrong place?

You need to create your own .user file. DON'T modify the COM_5ePack_PHB - Spells.user.

If you do, the first time you get a 5C Community Pack update you will lose everything.

Create a new file (ie: COM_5ePack_UA_Variant_Class_Abilities - Spells.user).
Then add the spells in that file.

The COM_5ePack_PHB - Spells.user only contains spells from the Players Handbook.

Watch your back, Conserve your ammo,
and NEVER cut a deal with a dragon!

Thank you for reminding me that I need to make my own user file. I was just trying to see how it was formatted, but surprised that I didn't see every spell from the PHB

The Community Spell file should only include spells that aren't already in the official SRD release by LW.

Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew).
HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP).

DM and player of D&D since 1980.

One way to implement this is not to copy the spells but to use the *Extend Thing tab in the editor.

On that tab if you want to change the Aid spell to give it to the Bard class what you would do is create a New *Extend.

You use the Find Thing button to find the spell - in this case spAid.
Then for the GroupID you type in sClass
and for TagID you type in cHelpBrd

After you save this and reload your files the spell should appear in the bard list now.

This extends the class tag for bard onto the spell.
If you needed to put the class tag for another class onto Aid, you need to create another *Extend thing with the cHelpXXX for the class.

It's a bit cumbersome for a large amount of spells but it doesn't create duplicates.

Is there a list or reference of TagIDs, in case I decide to add the spells variants for the other classes too?
Edit: I kinda found them by finding the example authoring htm files. A reference would be nice but this is a moving target no?
