I have just started working with Hero Lab and I am trying to make a new class. I started with the ranger template, duplicated it, made the changes. When I test the new class it comes back with this error:

"...(line 86) - Thing - Duplicate record encountered ('cRgrEndHlp')"

I am not finding this and would greatly appreciate help in finding it. Thanks.

It sounds like you are trying to save the class as a Ranger. Have you named it to something else and created a new help file for it, then saved it? also check the 3 letter code you gave for the class and make sure its not the sqame as the Rangers. Hope this helps.

If you want to make a new version of the ranger, the proper way is to go to the class tab in the editor, press "New (copy)", and select ranger as the class you want to copy. If you simply copy the file and start renaming things, you'll have to rename every class special, too. Then you'll have to change where the bootstrap on your class points.

Thanks for the replies. I am not sure which way I made the copy, but I did rename the class, but I have not done anything to the help file. Thanks. I will check that out.
